In Belgorod, a non-alcoholic wine was developed that protects the kidneys during X-rays

Scientists from the Belgorod State National Research University (NRU BelSU) have laboratory proven that the non-alcoholic red wine they produce can protect the patient’s kidneys during an X-ray examination. This was reported to TASS at the BelSU National Research University.

Russia has developed a wine that protects the kidneys during X-rays

"Scientists at the Research Institute of Pharmacology of Living Systems of the National Research University BelSU, as a result of experiments, proved that dealcoholized wine protects the kidneys from damage during X-ray contrast studies,” the message says.

It is noted that the non-alcoholic wine was produced by employees of the research institute using original technology from northern grape varieties, specially selected and grown by geneticist breeders of the university in the botanical garden National Research University BelSU. The drink has a high content of antioxidants. And the installation developed and assembled by BelSU physicists makes it possible to remove alcohol, not only preserving, but also increasing the volume of polyphenols and other useful substances.

“The antioxidant properties of this wine prevent the development of endothelial dysfunction during systemic inflammation, including post-Covid syndrome,” the press service quotes the director of the Research Institute of Pharmacology of Living Systems of the National Research University BelSU, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Vladimir Pokrovsky.

Research is carried out within the framework of the project “Development of genetic technologies in crop production of economically valuable crops using the example of Vitis vinifera” “Priority-2030” program.
